April 2013
We will be offering two all ages interactive tours on Saturday, April 21 in celebration of Earth Day. Join us for one or both, see below for details. Did you know that you can help improve the quality of the Ohio River from your own backyard? Visit the Green Learning Station to find out how we are keeping rain where it falls and what you can do at home to do the same. The interactive tour will start at 1:00 pm on April 21 at the Green Learning Station building on the corner of Reading and Oak and is open to all ages. Growing food isn’t just for farmers! At the Civic Garden Center we grow food in pots, on rooftops and in our own “backyard.” Learn easy strategies for getting started with urban (or suburban) vegetable gardens on this tour that will have you tasting, tromping and digging in the dirt (and compost). The interactive tour will start at 11:00 am on April 21 at the Green Learning Station building on the corner of Reading and Oak and is open to all ages.

NOTE: The role of the Children & Nature Network (C&NN) is to help build the children and nature movement, and to help parents and others learn about ways they can connect children to nature. Let's G.O.! is an approach we wish to encourage. However, C&NN is not responsible for the activities and safeguards associated with events scheduled to reconnect children and nature. At any time, when children are outside on their own, or with families and friends, everyone should take safety precautions and be mindful of risks.
