Nuclear power kills animals, too

Help stop the slaughter and start a nuclear shutdown!
The on-going Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan brought us heartbreaking pictures of skeletal dogs and ragged cats roaming the streets and of dying livestock left to starve.
Marine animals are also suffering, contaminated by tens of thousands of tons of radioactively contaminated water dumped into the ocean at Fukushima.
But nuclear power harms animals without an accident. Millions of fish and spawn are pulverized by reactor intake systems while endangered sea turtles, manatees and seals are injured and killed. More
Help us send a message to President Obama by signing our newest petition today. Ask him to take a strong stand for safe, sustainable, clean energy, not dangerous nuclear power. And if you want to take part in shutting down our most demonstrably dangerous reactors – the 23 US GE Mark Is identical to the Fukushima meltdowns – then please send a letter to the NRC to become a co-petitioner with Beyond Nuclear. We are asking the NRC to immediately suspend the operating licenses of the Mark Is as we move toward a 100% phase-out of nuclear power!
Thanks for taking action. And please also consider making a donation to Beyond Nuclear today. Your support will help us build a grassroots movement to close dangerous nuclear plants and create a safe energy future for our children.
